Start with a compact bun or French twist. Insert the tip into the outer edge of the hairstyle and pick up a small section of hair. Turn the stick back toward the center, then slide it through the twist close to the head until the stem emerges on the opposite side. Leave the camellia slightly off-center and enough of the long stem visible to define its line. If you need more hold, secure the hairstyle with hairpins first and add the stick last.
